Mo.- Wis. Blues Appoint New CEO

The newly combined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri and Wisconsin, St. Louis, has named Stuart Campbell as president and CEO, effective April 1.[@@]

In Missouri, Campbell replaces Angela Braly as president and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri. She has been appointed executive vice president, general counsel and chief public affairs officer for the plans’ parent company, WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis.

In Wisconsin, Campbell replaces Rebecca Kapustay, who is retiring.

Campbell had been president and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri in 2002 and 2003. Currently, he is senior vice president for strategic planning and management process for WellPoint.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield plans in Missouri and Wisconsin will be part of WellPoint’s central region, which also includes Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. Campbell will report to Keith Faller, president and CEO of WellPoint’s central region.
