HSBC Holdings P.L.C., London, has hired J. Kevin McCarthy to be managing director of insurance sales and business development for North America.[@@]
McCarthy, who will be based in Bridgewater, N.J., will manage distribution of all insurance products through HSBC North American business units.
HSBC, an international banking company, sells term life insurance, health insurance and disability insurance in the United States as well as credit life insurance and property-casualty insurance products.
McCarthy has been a senior vice president of distribution at Allstate Financial, a unit of Allstate Corp., Northbrook, Ill.
McCarthy has a bachelor’s degree economics and English from Boston College and holds the Chartered Life Underwriter professional designation.
