Maryland insurance regulators have licensed the firm to do business as a viatical and life settlement provider.

M. Bryan Freeman, one of the founders of the modern life settlement industry, formed Habersham in 2001.

Freeman now is serving his third term as president of the Viatical & Life Settlement Association of America, Orlando.
