About 84% of employees with access to employer-sponsored health screenings participate.[@@]

Researchers at Principal Financial Inc., Des Moines, Iowa, have based that conclusion in a report on a survey of 1,700 employees of companies with 10 to 1,000 employees.

Researchers found that 78% of survey participants said they would accept employers’ future offers for health screenings and that 48% of the participants said they believed they and their families benefit more than employers or insurers from wellness programs.

Almost half of the employees who said they had participated in health screenings reported that they were eating better and exercising more.
