A Minneapolis fraternal insurer is kicking off its 2005 hiring campaign.[@@]

The insurer, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, says it hopes to add 650 new financial representatives to its sales force of more than 2,600 by the end of the year.

The hiring campaign is part of an effort to improve service to Thrivent’s 2.8 million members and increase sales of life insurance, annuities and mutual funds to the 9.5 million adult members of the Lutheran church. Thrivent will do the recruiting through its 32 regional offices, the company says.

Thrivent says it is willing to consider recent college graduates and professionals looking for new careers as well as experienced financial reps.

A year ago, Thrivent employed a force of about 2,500 reps.

Thrivent hired 737 reps in 2003 and 728 reps in 2004, according to company statistics.
