A unit of Lincoln Financial Corp., Philadelphia, has started offering the Lincoln Director group variable annuity contract in New York state.[@@]

The contract, a product for funding 401(k) retirement plans, offers Web-based maintenance tools and a menu of investment options from 14 fund families.

Lincoln is issuing the contract through a Syracuse, N.Y., unit, Lincoln Life & Annuity Company of New York.
