Aetna Makes Executive Changes

A large Hartford insurer is replacing its global benefits head and elevating a member of its public relations staff.[@@]

The insurer, Aetna Inc., has hired Jim Foreman to be senior vice president and head of national accounts and Aetna Global Benefits.

The company also has promoted David Carter to vice president of public relations.

Foreman, who previously was global managing director for health and welfare at Towers Perrin Inc., New York, will succeed Russ Fisher, who is retiring.

Foreman is a graduate of the Aetna Group School and spent 3 years at Aetna before moving to Towers Perrin. He has a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Carter, who joined Aetna in 2000, previously spent 18 years working in Washington. He has a bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College.
