Hyatt Legal Plans, Cleveland, has seen a big increase in member demand for estate-planning services.[@@]

Hyatt, a subsidiary of MetLife Inc., New York, runs group legal plans.

Member usage of Hyatt legal plans for preparation of wills, living wills, trusts and powers of attorney has increased 139% since January 2000, Hyatt says.

About 36% of the estate-planning business involves preparation of powers of attorney, and 31% involves preparation of wills. Another 24% of the group legal business relates to preparation of living wills.
