A Philadelphia insurer is setting up a free continuing education program for brokers and consultants who sell health insurance, disability insurance and related products.[@@]

CIGNA Corp. says its new “Academy by CIGNA” program will start off by offering courses on underwriting principles, disability insurance, strategies for integrating health and disability insurance, international benefits, hospital contracting and international benefits.

The program also will offer a course on the effects of war and terrorism on life and health coverage.

Most states will grant 2 to 6 continuing education credits for brokers and consultants who complete a source, CIGNA says.
