Units of Assurant Health are returning to the Centennial State’s small group health insurance market.[@@]

Small Colorado employers will be able to buy premium-only plans, health reimbursement arrangement plans and health savings account plans from Assurant Health’s Fortis Insurance and John Alden subsidiaries, Assurant Health says.

Assurant Health, Milwaukee, a unit of Assurant Inc., New York, left the Colorado market in the mid-1990s in response to small group laws that limited rating flexibility. New Colorado laws that eased those limits took effect in September, and Assurant Health says it is returning to Colorado as a result of the changes.
