A life insurer has set up a Web site to promote an educational rewards program.[@@]

New York Life Insurance Company, New York, has posted the site, a college planning site, at http://www.newyorklife.educationplanner.com

The site tells students and parents who visit about New York Life’s participation in the Upromise loyalty marketing program.

Companies in the program contribute a portion of Upromise members’ payments to college savings accounts for the members’ children or other beneficiaries.

New York Life contributes to the Upromise savings accounts when Upromise members buy its participating life insurance and variable annuity products.

New York Life education site features include a career assessment section, school search tools, college match quizzes, tips on applications and essay writing, and a tutorial on financial aid packages.
