The financial services arm of Jefferson-Pilot Corp., Greensboro, N.C., has launched a universal life insurance product designed for consumers who are interested mainly in preserving wealth for their heirs.[@@]

The new product, JPF Duet 300 XG, offers a relatively low-cost guaranteed death benefit without as much accumulation of cash value as some other UL policies, Jefferson-Pilot says.

Customers can buy policy riders that will give them the ability to increase or decrease coverage, change death benefit options or accelerate benefits in case of critical illness, nursing home confinement or terminal illness.
