Group Health Inc., New York, has introduced 2 health plans that help employers share costs with employees.[@@]

The new GHI PPO Share plan and the new GHI EPO Share plan, which is similar to a health maintenance organization plan, are about 10% to 15% cheaper than standard GHI PPO and EPO plans, GHI says.

The EPO plans provides coverage only for in-network care and the PPO plan provides some out-of-network coverage. But both plans let patients see GHI specialists without referrals, GHI says.

The EPO plan offers a choice of deductibles and 2 levels of coinsurance maximums.

The PPO plan, which is designed for employer groups with 2 to 50 employees, offers 2 co-payment options and 4 levels of out-of-pocket maximums, GHI says.
