NEW YORK–(HedgeWorld.com) Madison Capital Management LLC, has appointed Kristina Smorol as a portfolio director.

Ms. Smorol will work primarily on investments in real estate securities for Madison’s joint venture with Pramerica’s real estate investment management arm and other funds managed by Madison. The joint venture concentrates on nontraditional real estate investment.

Ms. Smorol has worked for TIAA-CREF, Scotia Capital and Commerzbank AG. She speaks German and French in addition to English.

Madison specializes in distressed, real estate and special-situation securities and assets, with an event-driven and value-oriented approach. The firm has more than US$300 million in assets under management.
