The board of directors of Pan-American Life Insurance Company have picked Jos? S. Suquet to be the company’s president and chief executive officer.[@@]
John J. Kelly, who had served as interim president and CEO of the New Orleans company, will continue as chairman of the board.
Suquet has worked in the insurance field for 25 years and most recently was a senior executive vice president of AXA Financial, New York.
Pan-American is a mutual life insurance company focusing on business and individual customers in Latin America and the Caribbean Basin as well as regional markets in the United States.
Suquet, who was born in Cuba, will target the U.S. Hispanic market by developing worksite marketing and senior market programs, according to a company announcement. He is also charged with guiding the company’s plans to expand in Latin America and the U.S.
