Florida Blue Unveils Term Life Family

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Jacksonville, Fla., has introduced a new family of term life insurance products.[@@]

The LifeEssentials products include a series of level term life insurance policies with terms ranging from 10 years to 30 years. Benefits amounts range from $25,000 to $100,000.

Policyholders have an option to convert to whole life insurance until they turn 75.

The policy also includes a standard accelerated living benefit. The feature pays up to 50% of the death benefit to policyholders are terminal ill.

Optional features include a waiver-of-premium rider for insureds who are disabled for at least 6 months and an accidental death rider that pays extra benefits for deaths resulting from accidental causes.

Florida Blue is issuing the LifeEssentials policies through its Florida Combined Life Insurance Company Inc. unit.
