About The Manager

Bart Geer is a Chartered Financial Analyst with more than 23 years of professional investment experience, although he notes that he personally has been a stock investor since age 17. He joined Putnam Investments in 2000 and holds the titles of Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager with the Large Cap Value Team, in addition to serving as portfolio leader of the Putnam Equity Income Fund.

Prior to joining Putnam, he spent nearly two decades with State Street Research & Management, where he rose from equity analyst to portfolio manager and vice president with responsibility for high-yield investments. Geer began his career as a mergers and acquisitions analyst for Hanna Mining Co.
