New York Life announced today that Joseph Gilmour will succeed Gary G. Benanav as chief executive of New York Life International.[@@]
The appointment will become effective March 1, 2005.
Gilmour, 48, is currently executive vice president and chief financial officer of New York Life International, the company’s overseas arm with operations in 9 markets and an operating revenue of $1.3 billion last year.
Benanav, 58, will remain chairman of the unit until March 1, 2006.
Gilmour joined New York Life International in his present position in August 2003. He was previously with Canada Life Assurance Company, where he was senior vice president of the International and Reinsurance Division.
