WorldGroup Inc., Emeryville, Calif., has joined with Document Sciences Corp., Carlsbad, Calif., to introduce the Certs On Demand system.[@@]

WorldGroup is an insurance software developer and Document Sciences is a document automation systems company. Their new Web-based Certs On Demand system, an addition to WorldGroup’s InsureWorx product family, streamlines and automates the process of taking requests for certificates of insurance, issuing the certificates and delivering certificates through a variety of paper and electronic channels.

The system will help group life and health carriers give agents, brokers and some insureds the authority to issue the certificates, according to WorldGroup and Document Sciences.

The new system combines WorldGroup’s InsureWorx insurance administration software, which is based on the J2EE standard, with Document Sciences’ xPression content-processing services.

A Document Sciences representative says the combined product costs between $50,000 and $100,000.
