Americans think Julie Andrews is aging well.[@@]

Bankers Life and Casualty Company, Chicago, has published that conclusion in a report on a survey of 1,000 U.S. adults by an outside polling firm.

When researchers gave participants a short list of aging celebrities, almost 45% of the participants said Andrews, the star of “Sound of Music” and “Mary Poppins,” is the celebrity on the list who is aging the most gracefully.

Paul Newman came in second, with a top rating from 20% of the participants, and Robert Redford came in third, with a top rating from 16% of the participants. Only 1% of the participants said Rolling Stones drummer Keith Richards is aging the most gracefully.

Bankers Life is a unit of Conseco Inc., Carmel, Ind.
