Aetna Inc., Hartford, has developed a 4-day financial concepts training program for brokers who sell health insurance.[@@]

The company, which is holding the first training program this week, is aiming the course topics at brokers who already have at least 1 year of experience at working with health plans. The course will give relatively new health brokers more understanding of the health underwriting and rating system.

Course topics include risk assessment, insurance rating and funding arrangements.

Agents in many states can earn at least 12 continuing education units by taking the course, and agents can take the program without paying any tuition.
