Van Dessel Joins Abbey Capital

DUBLIN, Ireland (HedgeWorld.com)–Peter Van Dessel is Abbey Capital Ltd.’s chief operation officer, a new position at the firm.

Abbey Capital, which specializes in foreign exchange and managed futures managers, has seen significant funds growth in the last 12 months and has increased its team to 15 people. As of June 2004, the firm has more than US$300 million in assets under management.

Interest in Abbey’s multi-manager CTA funds remains strong, said Tony Gannon, chief executive of Abbey Capital, in a statement.

Mr. Van Dessel has 20 years experience in Treasury and debt capital markets, according to Abbey officials. Previously, he was managing director at West LB Covered Bond Bank, where since 2001 he’s been responsible for the set up phase of the bank.
