John Hancock Life Insurance Company, Boston, is beefing up its sales support for outside long term care insurance distributors.[@@]

The company, now a unit of Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto, has increased the size of its LTC insurance sales support team to 24, from 6.

The team has added 16 experts who can help banks and broker-dealers. The experts include 6 external wholesalers, 9 internal wholesalers and a manager, Hancock says.

The team also has added a fourth LTC regional sales director and a fourth internal LTC account executive to improve service for career agents, national accounts, brokerage general agents and managing general agents.

Manulife is helping to finance the expansion of the LTC sales support team, Hancock says.
