Private Healthcare Systems Inc., Waltham, Mass., has agreed to acquire Statewide Independent PPO of Syracuse, New York. [@@]

Private Healthcare is a large provider network management company, and Statewide Independent is a regional network company that has contracts with 12,000 doctors and 160 hospitals, clinics and other facilities in New York state.

Private Healthcare says it will be keeping Statewide’s Syracuse offices, but the price of the deal and other financial terms were not immediately available.

Private Healthcare earlier this week announced a similar deal to acquire a network company that serves the South.
