Independence Holding Heads To NYSE

Independence Holding Company, Stamford, Conn., has met the requirements to move its stock listing to the New York Stock Exchange.[@@]

Independence is not yet sure about the date, but it expects to change its symbol to IHC. The company has been trading on the Nasdaq National Market under the symbol INHO for many years.

Independence owns Standard Security Life Insurance Company of New York, a seller of disability insurance, group insurance and medical stop-loss insurance, and Madison National Life Insurance Company Inc., a seller of group life insurance, group disability insurance and medical stop-loss insurance.
