Prudential Financial Inc., Newark, N.J., has hired the former president of Allmerica Financial Services to be vice president and chief marketing officer at its individual life unit.[@@]
Mark Hug was president of Allmerica Financial Services, a unit of Allmerica Financial Corp., Worcester, Mass., until February 2004, when the parent company decided to focus on its property-casualty insurance business.
In the 1990s, Hug was senior vice president of individual markets at Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States, New York.
Hug will succeed Priscilla Myers, who is retiring after spending almost 30 years at Prudential.
Hug has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Schaumburg, Ill.
