Principal Hires CNA Benefits Veteran

Principal Financial Group Inc., Des Moines, Iowa, has hired Tim Knott to be vice president of group benefits.[@@]

Knott previously was a senior vice president in the group benefits operations at CNA Financial Corp., Chicago. Before he began working for CNA, he spent 13 years as a vice president and group actuary at Fortis Benefits Insurance Company, Kansas City, Mo., a unit of what is now Assurant Inc., New York.

Knott has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Central Missouri State University and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Schaumburg, Ill.
