American Community Mutual Insurance Company, Livonia, Mich., has started selling a new health insurance plan to individuals and families in Missouri.[@@]

The new Medalist preferred provider organization plan offers a maternity option, a choice of 5 deductible levels and a preventive care services benefit that pays 80% of the first $500 of annual preventive care expenses. The plan also pays for emergency services at network levels and waives the deductible for treatment of injuries.

American Community was founded in 1938 and now provides health insurance for about 200,000 people.
