NU Online News Service, June 10, 2004, 5:27 p.m. EDT – URAC, Washington, has set up a committee that is developing quality standards for the new consumer-directed health plan programs.[@@]

The 21 members of the nonprofit group’s Consumer Directed Health Advisory Committee include representatives from employers, trade groups, traditional health insurers, consumer-directed health plan companies, benefits consulting firms, consumer advocacy groups and specialty health care organizations.

The committee hopes to release an initial draft of consumer-directed program standards in September, URAC says.
