NU Online News Service, June 3, 2004, 12:37 p.m. EDT – Evergreen Re Inc., Stuart, Fla., is expanding its pharmacy benefits consulting business.[@@]

The health reinsurer and risk management company has acquired the pharmacy benefits consulting practice of Stanton Group, Minneapolis, and renamed the practice Evergreen Rx.

Ken Dowell, who was Stanton’s pharmacy benefits practice leader, will be the Evergreen Rx pharmacy practice leader, Evergreen says.

Linda Tillitt, former manager of the Stanton Group pharmacy division, will be the pharmacy operations manager at Evergreen Rx, and she and Dowell will continue to work in Minneapolis, Evergreen says.

The deal includes Stanton’s PharmAssist analysis system. Consultants can use the system to evaluate an employer’s pharmacy benefits manager and cut costs by looking for billing errors and compliance problems, Evergreen says.
