GHI Offers Online Doctor-Patient Contact

NU Online News Service, May 11, 2004, 10:55 a.m. EDT – Group Health Inc., New York, will offer its 2.6 million health plan members in New York online access to services from their own physicians.[@@]

The not-for-profit health insurer has signed an agreement with RelayHealth Corp., Emeryville, Calif., to provide secure online health care communication services between its members and health care professionals, employers and pharmacies.

RelayHealth, a Web communications company, says the program offers electronic prescribing and disease management programs. GHI members will also be able to use the Web to send messages to their doctors and request appointments, prescription renewals and lab results.
