NU Online News Service, May 10, 2004, 12:10 p.m. EDT – Oxford Health Plans Inc., Trumbull, Conn., plans to expand its Medicare managed care coverage area starting July 1.[@@]
The company wants to sell Medicare coverage in Bergen, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Passaic, Ocean and Union counties in New Jersey and in Orange and Rockland counties in New York.
The company now provides Medicare coverage for 70,000 residents of Hudson County, New Jersey; in New York City in New York; and in New Haven County, Connecticut.
Oxford must get official approval from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services before it can complete the Medicare service area expansion.
