NU Online News Service, April 19, 2004, 5:31 p.m. EDT – Nationwide Financial Services Inc., Columbus, Ohio, has brought in the 3 little pigs to teach children about the importance of financial planning.[@@]

The company’s retirement services unit drafted Nationwide employees to illustrate “The Three Little Pigs: A Financial Fairy Tale,” and it persuaded Nationwide Chief Executive Jerry Jurgensen, 275 Nationwide field representatives and 60 U.S. mayors to present the book to children Thursday, to celebrate “Take A Child To Work Day.”

Nationwide notes that its retirement services unit sells retirement savings plans and financial education services to public agencies. The unit is working on the “Three Little Pigs” project with the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Washington, and the National Association of Counties, Washington.
