NU Online News Service, April 8, 2004, 11:32 a.m. EDT – Nationwide Financial Services Inc., Columbus, Ohio, is offering 30 collective investment funds to sponsors of small and midsize retirement plans.[@@]

CIFs resemble mutual funds, but, legally, they are trusts that are subject to state trust laws and federal banking regulation. CIF managers do not have to register CIFs with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
