NU Online News Service, April 6, 2004, 11:30 a.m. EST – Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company has redesigned its Web-based educational tool aimed at showing consumers and business owners what life would be like if they lost their ability to work.[@@]

The company, in Springfield, Mass., has introduced a calculator and other educational tools on the Web site, www.halfapaycheck.com, to provide an understanding of how becoming disabled and unable to work could adversely affect individuals’ lifestyles and businesses. The site is aimed at boosting sales for one of MassMutual’s major products, disability income insurance.

The company says it upgraded its small business end of the site to explain a business owner’s disability needs through eight stages of a typical small business lifecycle, from conception and start-up through growth, partnership and exit.
