NU Online News Service, March 24, 2004, 10:23 a.m. EST – The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Brookfield, Wis., will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding April 2.[@@]

President Bush has helped by designating April 2 “National Employee Benefits Day.”

The IFEBP says trustees of 11 construction industry benefit trust funds started the group April 2, 1954, when they met in Akron, Ohio, to discuss benefit trust management.

The IFEBP is encouraging plan sponsors, trustees and advisors to celebrate benefits day by organizing plan participant education efforts.
