NU Online News Service, March 24, 2004, 5:32 p.m. EST – Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Company, Englewood, Colo., says sales of its new Consumer Advantage health plan have been strong.[@@]

The preferred provider plan uses variations in coinsurance levels to encourage members to seek necessary preventive care but encourage members to shop carefully for medical services.

More than 150 employers have signed up for the program since Great-West introduced it 2 months ago, and those employers sponsor self-insured health plans that cover about 40,000 eligible members, Great-West says.
