NU Online News Service, March 8, 2004, 1:28 p.m. EST – Answer Financial Inc., Los Angeles, is adding group health coverage to the menu of products it sells to Sam’s Club members.[@@]
The Sam’s Club wholesale club is a unit of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Bentonville, Ark., that has about 46 million members.
Answer Financial already sells individual life insurance, individual health insurance, workers’ compensation and commercial property-casualty coverage to Sam’s Club members through Web- and telephone-based sales operations.
The new group health policies will be preferred provider organization plans designed for employers with 2 to 99 employees. Answer Financial will start by making the plans available in Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio and Tennessee. The company hopes to make the plans available throughout the United States.
