NU Online News Service, Feb. 18, 2004, 12:43 p.m. EST – MyHealthBank Inc., Portland, Ore., is adding plastic to its defined contribution health plan management software.[@@]

The company has agreed to build a special interface module for the Benny Card into its MyHealthBank Finance software system.

Insurers, benefit plan administrators and other organizations can use the MyHealthBank Finance software to run health plans that combine health insurance with various types of personal health accounts, such as flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement arrangements and health savings accounts.

The Benny Card, from Evolution Benefits L.L.C., Avon, Conn., is a plastic “stored value” card that carries the MasterCard logo. Patients can use the card to pay for drugs, medical supplies and health care services at any business that accepts debit cards.

Adding a Benny Card module to MyHealthBank Finance should help plan administrators and plan members make payments and manage personal health accounts, MyHealthBank says.
