NU Online News Service, Feb. 9, 2004, 1:28 p.m. EST – Computer Sciences Corp., El Segundo, Calif., is helping 8 health insurers predict the future.[@@]

CSC says it licensed the Johns Hopkins Adjusted Clinic Groups System to 8 public and private carriers with a total of 2 million members in 2003. The best known customers are the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, a state Medicaid agency, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, Omaha, Neb.

The Johns Hopkins software helps carriers assess the health of individuals enrolled in health plans and forecast their future health care use. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health develops and maintains the software, but CSC is the exclusive distributor.
