Murdock To Head Mich. Health Plan Group

NU Online News Service, Feb. 5, 2004, 12:34 p.m. EST – The Michigan Association of Health Plans, Lansing, Mich., has named Richard Murdock executive director.[@@]

Murdock has been the trade group’s interim executive director since his predecessor, Eugene Farnum, died of cancer in October 2003.

Murdock also has served as the group’s deputy executive director.

Before Murdock began working for the group in 2002, he spent 25 years working at the Michigan Department of Community Health and the State Budget Office. When he left public service, he was running Michigan’s Medicaid managed care program.

Murdock has a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
