Fort Dearborn Life Acquires Omaha Life

NU Online News Service, Jan. 12, 2004, 2:37 p.m. EST – Fort Dearborn Life Insurance Company, Chicago, has acquired Omaha Life Insurance Company from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, Omaha, Neb. [@@]

The price of the deal and other terms were not immediately available.

Omaha Life has about $15 million in assets.

Fort Dearborn Life is a unit of Health Care Service Corp., Chicago. Health Care Service holds the Blue Cross and Blue Shield licenses for Illinois, Texas and New Mexico.
