NU Online News Service, Dec. 29, 2003, 11:32 a.m. EST – LOMA, Atlanta, says it is divesting its ownership interest in the Academy for Healthcare Management, a professional education organization.[@@]

LOMA joined with the American Association of Health Plans, Washington, and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Chicago, to form the academy in 1997.

The AAHP recently merged with the Health Insurance Association of America, Washington.

Now that the AAHP and the HIAA have completed their merger, the combined organization and the Blue Cross association have decided they no longer need LOMA to administer the academy, LOMA says.
