NU Online News Service, Dec. 12, 2003, 4:17 p.m. EST — The Southern California Schools Voluntary Employees Benefit Association, San Diego, has picked the behavioral health unit of PacifiCare Health Systems Inc., Cypress, Calif., to manage mental health care and drug addiction treatment for association plan members in 2004 and 2005.[@@]

PacifiCare also will run the association’s employee assistance program.

The association provides health coverage for 35,000 school system employees in the San Diego area and 52,000 dependents.
