Citizens Buys Mid American Alliance

NU Online News Service, Nov. 19, 2003, 11:20 a.m. – Citizens, Inc., Austin, Texas, announced it has acquired Mid American Alliance Corporation, parent of Mid-American Century Life Insurance Company, Jefferson City, Mo.

Citizens, a financial services company, says it will issue around 880,000 shares of common stock with a market value of approximately $8.2 million to shareholders of Mid American.

The transaction boosts Citizens’ assets to approximately $400 million, revenues to $100 million and stockholders’ equity to $130 million.
