Blues Increase Enrollment 3.5% In Six Months

NU Online News Service, Nov. 10, 2003, 1:37 p.m. EST – The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Chicago, says total enrollment at its 41 member plans increased to 88 million at the end of June, up 3.5% from the total at the end of 2002.

Total revenue for the first half increased to $90 billion, up from $79 billion six months earlier, and total statutory surplus increased to $28 billion, from $24.5 billion.
