NU Online News Service, Nov. 6, 2003, 11:36 a.m. EST – The Blues plans in Georgia and New Jersey have introduced defined contribution health plan products.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, Atlanta, a unit of WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif., has introduced the Blue Power HealthFund, a product that combines high-deductible preferred provider coverage with an employer-funded health savings account.

Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, Newark, N.J., has introduced an employer-funded health savings account program of its own, the Horizon MyWay PCA personal care account.

Members of the Horizon MyWay PCA plans will be able to draw on account funds using debit cards that carry the MasterCard logo, Horizon says.
