MetLife Completes Hancock Group Life Acquisition

NU Online News Service, Nov. 4, 2003, 9:57 p.m. EST – MetLife Inc., New York, reports it has completed previously announced plans to acquire the group life business of John Hancock Financial Services Inc., Boston.

MetLife agreed to the deal in June and recently received regulatory approval to act on the agreement.

The price of the deal and other terms were not disclosed. Hancock has said it sold the unit because it wants to focus on other products.
