SafeGuard Completes Health Net Ancillary Benefits Deal

NU Online News Service, Nov. 3, 2003, 12:49 p.m. EST – SafeGuard Health Enterprises Inc., Aliso Viejo, Calif., has completed a previously announced deal to acquire the dental and vision benefits units of Health Net Inc., Los Angeles.

The price and other terms were not available.

SafeGuard now provides or administers dental and vision coverage for 900,000 people in California and 500,000 people in other states.

Health Net is keeping the Health Net Dental and Vision brand names, but Health Net medical sales representatives will be selling products underwritten and administered by SafeGuard, SafeGuard says.
