Schwab To Help Advisors Plan Their Exits

NU Online News Service, Oct. 28, 2003, 4:51 p.m. EST – The Charles Schwab Corp., San Francisco, is developing a support program for independent investment advisors who want to retire or sell their firms.

One service will be a Web site that advisors can use to buy and sell investment advisory firms.

The program also will offer referrals to lawyers, accountants, valuation consultants, lenders and others who can help implement and finance transition plans.

Schwab is starting by organizing a series of Schwab Advisor Transition Support workshops. Schwab will hold the first workshop in the series Jan. 13, 2004, in San Francisco.
